The Deck – The only bar RIGHT on the “edge” in Laguna Beach
The Pacific Edge’s fabulous outdoor deck right on the beach (and I mean, waves lapping under the deck in high tide) has now become a full-blown outdoor bar – aptly titled “The Deck” – with full menu options and adjoining cabanas to boot. From me personally, I’d say it’s a big improvement! There’s no other open-air, gasp-at-the-sunset bar in Laguna Beach that sits any closer to the waves than this little winner.

It’s a glorious day here in Laguna Beach this Memorial Day. Yesterday, it felt like December … today, back to the blue, cloudless skies and mid 70s weather we expect and love here. My beach below is packed (well, in comparison to its usual vacancy) and I managed to take a couple shots of a couple dudes sailing right over my front deck in their latest kiting contraptions . . .
Sadly, Albertson’s Laguna Beach removed from “Best” list
This AM, I’m going to do a very short entry on a grocery store I used to love that might now be marked from that list. It’s the Albertson’s in South Laguna Beach. For 7 years now, I’ve passed other stores closer to me to go to Albertson’s because their people and pricing were the bomb. Further, even with the onlsaught of Montage visitors crowding in, they handled our crowds quite efficiently. This ground to a halt about 3 weeks ago when management began “renovating” the Albertson’s store . . .
