Upsets galore at “The Vic” skimboard contest this Sunday
Today, the second day of Laguna Beach hosting “The Vic” – the Victoria Skimboards Annual World Championship in skimboarding – has been a day of continued surprises. In yesterday afternoon’s Pro Men heats, last year’s Vic Champ, Morgan Just, was tossed out of the running, much to the surprise of groms and pros alike. t’s another beautiful day in Laguna Beach and the crowds are thick at Aliso Beach to watch “The Vic,” – The Victoria Skimboards World Championship… and what a great contest it’s been. This morning, amidst great swells and hinky waters, 9 heats of Pro Skimboard Men were whittled down to leave just 18 pro skimboarders (men) moving forward to the next round.

The Grandpappy skimboarding event of all skimboarding events – The Victoria Skimboards World Championship of Skimboarding – is happening this weekend in Laguna Beach, July 16th and 17th. pack. Mo Just is currently in 2nd, with fellow pro skimboarders Sammy Stinnett, Brad Domke and Austin Keen separated from Mo’s lead by mere digits.
Vic Skim releases WCS video at Mo Just Bday Bash
Victoria Skimboards is throwing a Birthday Bash for Morgan Just on Sun, Oct. 17th, at the White House in Laguna Beach. This all-ages gig (till 9:30 p.m., then it’s 21-and-over only) is also featuring the debut of Vic Skim’s 2010 WCS video “Against the Grain” . . .

OK, aside from the fact that we all fried to chili pepper crisps on Sunday’s final day of the Vic Skim World Championships, there was more than hot hot weather at this 34th annual “granddaddy” event. If you missed it, you should be crying in your chocolate milk for a week. This event was off the hook . . .
